Happy equinox!  We hope this message finds you in good spirits, well and with everything you need.  This season has surely been challenging on all of us and yet there is a spirit of resiliency that always accompanies the resurrection of life in the season of spring!  We are grateful to those of you who have purchased a ticket to the gathering - and we have a deep gratitude for all of you who have shown our organizing team so much patience while trying to figure out how to move forward.  We have decided to not join cancel-nation but to instead take the gathering to the internet!  We realize that the only way to move forward and beyond COVID-19 into good standing with our selves, each other and the earth means supporting all of those 3 things through care - even in these times of /social/ physical distancing.  These are the times where it is most important to know the tools of earth in a variety of ways to assist us in healing, in better understanding how to care for all of our selves and our bodies, bodies of earth, and water included.  All of our bodies need tending too and we are grateful to offer you the same classes, energy, healing, community, and connection via webinar.
Here are some details of what this will look like:
  • The gathering will happen over a span of 3 days.  April 4th, April 5th, and April 12th.
  • Each day we will host a 6hr max webinar with multiple teachers. Each session will be 30 minutes long with a question and answer session lasting  5 to 10 minutes.  Questions can be entered in the chat box for the teacher and the moderator will read them at the end of each session.
  • The BIPOC Only preconference will take place April 4th 1pm-3:345pm and then we will continue with our full all inclusive audience.  (there will be two different zoom rooms so that there is no cross over in audience so if you want to attend tho preconference make sure you register for both the gathering and preconference on event brite.
  • This event will be sliding scale $5-55.  No one turned away for lack of funds - email us only if you need comp.  Please look at our social media if you need help discerning if you qualify as a person with financial needs.
  • Once the quaruantine is over we will do our best to organize a community care day so that our beloved vendors, local businesses, and sponsors can be accessible and available to you all, and so you can get your gift bags!!!

Herbalism was once upon a time common knowledge. Luckily our ancestors were able to perserve and pass down some healing information that has continued its lifeline into our generation.  However, there are still many people and families who do not have this information to provide further care for themselves and their families.  While science and historical and anthropological research has also made great contribution to the use and history of natural medicine and healing, the information is not always so accessible or easy to digest and in some cases does not appropriately represent the culture and communities from which knowledge was deriven.  Asc3nsion Art is hoping to change that by hosting an herb gathering that will provide access to practical methods of self-care to heal ourselves from the inside out through the use or herbs and plants as well as de-colonize the cultural use and history of plant medicine taught by community based healers and teachers.

There are many ways to be a part of what will be a loving and informative event.  We are seeking sponsors, teachers, volunteers, vendors, photographers, and participants to join us in building this community event TOGETHER!!! Check out our get involved page to see how you fit in to the mix of what will be a transformative event!
